I did an editorial cartoon about abortion. It had Obama holding the door for the women to choose to walk in the abortion clinic. The back door of the abortion clinic to the cemetery represents how some consider abortion murder. The fence represents how some people are blinded by this fact.

I think abortion has too much ethical controversy to make it humorous without being offensive. It is very satirical, and though it may be a little depressing, your argument is doing what it is supposed to do: be thought provoking. The happy cheery face of Obama lightens up the intensity of your argument, and also adds to it as well, by downsizing the issue. Your use of pathos is very effective.
This was some dark humor, but I feel like it works really well. The way the world seems full of life on one side, and then everything near the graveyard feels dead. I thought Obama's face was priceless.
Your editorial cartoon is thought provoking, and I like the idea of the fence, but you may want to make it a type of fence that is not see through...I don't know, it's up to you, but that type of fence easily allows you to see the tombs, but that may be your point. Another suggestion is to make your characters larger and some of the background isn't necessary, it may be a distraction to the main idea, but otherwise I think you did a good job for such a dark argument.
I was skeptical when we spoke on this in class, but your cartoon is especially thought-provoking. I do have a few suggestions. First, make the fact that it is Obama clear. Second, you can make it more condensed, not so wide. Third, don't be afraid to be vulgar and strong.
Definitely grabs your attention, which is not a bad thing. Obviously dealing with abortion its near impossible not to offend everyone. I think i understand your cartoons point, but I thought it was a stretch to make it seem like Obama is responsible for dead babies in graveyard. Anyway to lighten the mood of this topic would help your argument. Don't get me wrong this was a smart, strong argument but anyway to lighten it up would help.
The cartoon was very good. I is a very thought provoking idea. I thought the simplicity didn't make it too harsh but did make me think alot. Maybe you could make Obama clearer. Color could really add alot to this argument I think. Maybe a few more details and one funny part to make it a bit lighter?
I think that your cartoon was very thought-provoking. I understood your point but I would work on making Obama more defined so people can really tell that it's him. I think if you really want the fence to show that people are blinded by the fact that abortion is murder that you should make it more of a wall so people can't see through to the cemetery.
Your argument really made me think, like a lot. Which is really good and the point of it all, making people think for themselves and to challenge what they belive. You did a great job, I would say maybe make the tombstones clearer who they were, but it was veyr well done and looked great!
The graveyard with of babies was extremely strong because it is portraying how these babies were actually alive, but are now dead because of an abortion. Also, showing girls who are clearly pregnant walking to the front door to go and have their babies killed was also very strong. Maybe you could try and make it a little more clear Obama is opening the door to the clinic because I didn't exactly realize it was him until you told us.
Your argument was very thought provoking and I could tell your point of view 100%. That must have been a hard project to do a cartoon about!
Lindsay, I thought your cartoon was very creative. I see what you mean about how abortion is difficult not to offend someone, but i think you did a good job, without being offensive.
I thought this argument was good. It was a good mix of humor and starch realism. the only i can see that needs to be is maybe lighten it up a little.
Your picture was (in my opinion) the most untactful of all of our argument. The message was clear. I would have liked to see an Obama sticker on the building, as if he is campaigning there. I was worried that somewhere in the class somebody would be offended, so you hit some buttons somewhere. I loved it. Great work.
Lindsay-
this was a very thought provoking piece, and the graves had alot to do with that because they had a shock quality to them. A suggestion I had was maybe you could collage Obama in and the other objects if you want just to make it a little clearer who the person is.
I think that your argument was thought provoking. I couldn't necessarily tell that it was Obama holding the door so it made the argument a little less clear. I think its a good point but I wasn't entirely sure of the argument but your pathos is very good and effective.
Nice work i thought your message was well delivered i would just try to come up with anyway possible to lighten up such a serious topic. possible think opposite your own believes and you might be able to think of something humorous and then bring it back to your point.
I liked your cartoon and thought you did a good job with explaining it. It is a really hard subject to talk about without makes people uncomfortable.
